Mirjana helps menopausal women glide through this period of their life with more ease, joy and confidence. After struggling with her own journey into menopause, she finally resolved her debilitating fatigue, weight gain and digestive issues allowing her to enjoy an active and fulfilled life again. She discovered her passion for holistically guiding women through menopause so they can live life full of energy, vitality and joy.
She was born in beautiful Belgrade, Serbia and now she lives in sunny Huntington Beach, CA, USA.
In my mid-forties, working as a pharmacist, I suddenly began experiencing profound fatigue and exhaustion. Hard work was nothing new to me—I had always taken pride in my stamina, a trait I attribute to my Serbian roots. Known for my boundless energy and eagerness to embrace new adventures, I suddenly found myself struggling to muster the energy to simply go to work.
My family noticed shifts in my mood before I was even conscious of it myself. I no longer exuded the enthusiasm, optimism, and joy they were accustomed to seeing in me. The lack of energy and motivation hindered me from engaging in any physical activity, despite it being a vital component of my life for both physical and mental well-being. Sleeping through the night became elusive, interrupted by 2-3 awakenings per night. Frequent cramps and bloating significantly affected my mood. Despite never facing such issues before, I began gaining weight and accumulating stubborn belly fat that seemed impervious to any efforts to shed it.
I consulted with my doctor about constantly feeling fatigued, experiencing unexplained weight gain, and dealing with cramps and bloating, but received no clear guidance on how to address these issues. Another doctor, after testing my FSH levels, informed me that I was in perimenopause! However, they didn't delve any further into what to expect and certainly not anything that I could do about these awful symptoms. Seeking answers and a deeper understanding of what was happening to my body during perimenopause and menopause myself, I turned to numerous books and women's health related podcasts for information.
Despite diving into diet and exercise, I didn't experience any improvement; in fact, I only felt more exhausted and tired.
The straw that broke the camel’s back occurred a year later when I found out my son was diagnosed with a neurological autoimmune disorder. Still grappling with this grim reality, I found myself desperately searching for answers. My entire family was shaken to the core and I needed to do whatever I could to get to help him. My quest to get to the root cause of my son's autoimmune condition led me to delve into the realm of functional medicine.
I was stunned at the immense impact our lifestyle choices have on every aspect of our lives. Despite being a pharmacist and health-conscious, extensive research and a deep exploration of the interconnectedness of our bodies opened my eyes to the mind-body-soul connection crucial for our overall well-being. With this new information, and implementing some key internal and lifestyle shifts, I was finally able to reclaim my energy and zest for life, and I had valuable tools to assist my son. I cherish the invaluable lessons learned along the way.
This profound experience led to my mission to help women, especially Serbian menopausal moms lose weight, get rid of bloating, boost vibrant energy and powerfully show up for themselves and their families and take back control of their health, even if it feels like it is spinning out of control at the moment.
